Barra Lodge

From the historical city of Inhambane it is only a 30 minute drive to
Barra Lodge and transfers are done by the lodge staff. Barra has secluded,
unspoilt beaches and is bordered by the Inhambane Estuary
on one side and the sea on the other. The lodge is nestled amongst groves of
coconut trees and the warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round. Wide
open, sun-drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure.
There are 20 Casitas with en-suite bathroom (shower only),
mosquito nets, bedding and tea & coffee making facilities. All Casitas are
serviced daily. The 20 self-catering Cottages have a lounge area, bathroom,
kitchen with cutlery and crockery (for 6 people), fridge/freezer, 2-plate gas
stove, veranda, braai area, hot and cold water, bed linen and mosquito nets.
These cottages are also serviced daily.
Casitas can accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children sharing. There is one
double bed in the main bedroom, two single beds in the lounge area and one
bathrooom. The self-catering cottages can accommodate a maximum of 6 persons.
There are 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room and 2 extra single beds
(with mosquito nets) in the lounge area.
While relaxing to the sight and sound of
the ocean, guests at Barra Lodge can
indulge their taste buds at the
restaurant. Fresh seafood dominates the menu with prawns, calamari and fresh
line fish remaining the ever-popular favourites. Enjoy your meal indoors or
outdoors on the patio overlooking the pool. A very
popular meeting point right on the main beach
is the Beach Bar. Here you are invited to gather in the evenings to watch
the beautiful sunsets, participate in beach volley ball, pub games or simply sip
and enjoy your favourite drink.
The well stocked bar is a popular gathering
point attracting guests to share their days experiences. Every Wednesday and
Saturday evening Barra Lodge boasts a sumptuous buffet dinner served in the
beach bar while enjoying live Mozambican entertainment. The beach bar is open
daily and offers drinks, light meals and fresh pizza’s allowing one to enjoy all
day on the beach.
Hotel facilities include a restaurant and bar,
beach bar, swimming pool, conference facilities, laundry, television with DSTV
in the main lounge, good cell phone reception, curio shop, dive centre, pool
table, table tennis and darts.
Barra Lodge caters for families with children and is geared
towards fun and activities for the whole family.
As Mozambique is a
malaria area we strongly recommend that you commence anti-malaria
medication prior to arrival in the area. Guests should also bring
their own insect repellent as these are not always provided. Please
consult your nearest Travel Clinic or doctor for more advice.
