Located at Nungwi on the north-eastern shores of magical Zanzibar, this very
enchanting, luxurious and environmental friendly resort was designed to melt

Set in the midst of exotic and colourful tropical gardens it invites guests to
enjoy the pristine and relaxing view over the Indian Ocean. The distance to
Zanzibar International Airport is about 50 km. Stone Town, the Island's Capital
is just a mere 55 minutes drive away.
Diamonds La Gemma dell Est is one of the biggest hotels in Zanzibar
and boasts exceptional accommodation with well furnished rooms. All rooms
are sea facing with beautiful terraced gardens creating a wonderful tropical
atmosphere. There are 93 Deluxe Rooms, 16 Suites, 1 Family Suite, 28 Villa
Club Rooms in 7 private villas (3 to 4 rooms) and the Presidential Villa which
boasts 5 rooms.
All rooms and suites are equipped with King or European twin beds,
individually controlled air-conditioning, mosquito net, ceiling fan, remote
controlled television with satellite channels, in-room safe, mini bar, coffee &
tea making facilities, luggage rack, marble bathroom with walk-in shower, hand
basin, toilet, bidet, face mirror, hairdryer and Planhotel fine toiletries.
The Pavilion restaurant features indoor (air-conditioned) and
outdoor dining at its best! Lavish buffet served for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Special theme nights are organised on a weekly basis and the menu is
made up of light and tasty Mediterranean cuisine together with local favourites.
Coral Cove, the al fresco pizzeria on the beach serves fresh
pizza, salads, aperitif, selected wine and refreshing drinks. This restaurant
opens for dinner only.
Sea Breeze, the a la carte restaurant, specialises in fresh
seafood cooked and served to perfection in an exceptional and romantic
atmosphere.
The Beach Bar offers cool drinks and snacks throughout the day,
afternoon tea and a variety of cocktails in the evening. The Lobby Lounge
& Bar is located near the Reception and offers refreshing drinks in a calm and
peaceful environment during the day and early evening. The Café Moresco located
on the magnificent pier, opens only in the evening, and serves Oriental coffee
and tea, shisha, orientall snacks and pastries. The lounge bar offers a wide
selection of local and International cocktails and drinks with live
entertainment and African shows.
Leisure facilities include a water-sport centre with Hobie
cat, wind surfing, laser dinghy and canoes, scuba diving (PADI), daily
recreational & fitness activities, large swimming pool with children's area and
Jacuzzi and outdoor gym, tennis, water-skiing, wakeboarding, boarding, banana
tube riding , speedboat excursions, deep sea fishing and local boat sunset and
full day trips.
The Baobab Conference Centre: The convention centre caters to
all conference, meeting and banqueting requirements. Organising and catering
services are available along with premium table settings, meeting amenities and
audio-video equipment. The Baobab meeting rooms accommodate up to 200 persons
for sit-down functions and 250 for cocktail receptions. The grand ballroom
divides into 3 separate rooms fitted with soundproof walls and has a board room
offering the latest facilities.
There is a Spa and wellness centre at La Gemma dell'Est
where guests can be pampered and enjoy a range of different massages and
treatments.
