African Shores Terms and Conditions

All prices are valid at time of quoting and are valid at the rates of exchange prevailing at the time of quotation. African Shores reserves the right to adjust its prices in accordance with airfare, accommodation and other increases in the tariffs and/or variations in currency fluctuations which occur subsequent to your being given a quotation by African Shores or your Travel Agent.

Travel services may be subject to additional charges not shown, such as GST, transportation tax, departure tax, hotel tax , service charges, fuel surcharges and currency surcharges. Prices, unless otherwise specified, do not include any items not actually specified as being inclusive. Transfers between airports and hotels as well as tours, entertainment, meals and beverages are not included unless specified as inclusive. Telephone calls and all other items of a personal nature are not included.

Reservations:

Full payment may be required for making a reservation. Failure to make payment within 48 hours of quotation shall nullify the quotation. When making a reservation more than 10 weeks prior to departure a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of 25 percent of the total package price will be due within 48 hours of invoice. The full balance of the price must be paid at least 6 weeks prior to departure unless otherwise specified by African Shores or any of its suppliers. In all cases African Shores reserves the right to cancel any reservation if the total price and all airport and other taxes due have not been paid by the payment deadline. All amounts paid to African Shores as a deposit prior to this time will be forfeited and may be retained by African Shores.

Late Booking Fees:

In all cases where a reservation is made 30 days or less prior to travel, African Shores, at its discretion, shall be entitled to charge a late booking of a minimum of R100.00.

Amendments:

Any change to a reservation might impose a 100% cancellation fee. If you wish to make changes to your travel arrangements, African Shores will make every effort to satisfy your request. If such a change is permitted after the reservation is made and is at least 7 days or more prior to departure, an administration fee of R500 plus any additional charges imposed by the suppliers will be charged per occurrence. Change requests made less than 7 days prior to departure will be treated as cancellations and the applicable cancellation penalties will apply. In the event of the initial room occupancy changes due to the cancellation of one of more passengers, the remaining passenger will be responsible for the new occupancy rate.

Group Travel:

All product, specials, rates and offers are valid for Individual Travel and may not be applicable for groups of 10 or more people travelling together.

Delays and/or Cancellations:

African Shores shall not be responsible for any delays and/or cancellations either prior to departure, or during the course of any travel undertaken whether caused by technical difficulties, strikes, weather or any other circumstance whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen. You will be responsible for all expenses incurred relating to any unscheduled extensions (e.g. accommodation, meals, flights, telephone calls, clothing, toiletries etc.).

Unused Services:

No refund will be considered for any unused services irrespective of whether they form part of the basic inclusive price, or whether they are in respect of pre-booked optional and/or additional arrangements.

Accommodation:

African Shores reserves the right to change requested hotels to that of a similar grade or better, even after departure from South Africa.

Travel Documents and re-confirmation of Flights:

In the event that the passenger does not possess the correct documentation required by the destination or Airline, the Airline reserves the right to refuse passage. Customs and/or Immigration Officials can, at their own discretion, deny the passenger entry into their country. The travel provider cannot be held responsible for denied entry under any circumstances.

Liabilities:

African Shores makes every effort to ensure that all arrangements and services are carried out in the most efficient and effective way possible. However it does not have direct control over services provided by its suppliers, for whom it is acting in the capacity as agents. African Shores shall not be held liable for changes, omissions or delays, before or during the course of any holidays, whether occasioned by technical difficulties, weather conditions, strikes, communication breakdowns, or any other cause whatsoever. Should you encounter any difficulties while on holiday we recommend first taking up the issues with the hotel/service provider. If you decide to move hotels during your stay, African Shores will where ever possible, try help recoup the unused portion of your hotel stay less any cancellation penalties imposed by the supplier. In this instance written documentation of the claim will be needed and any requests for out-of-pocket expenses must be accompanied by original receipts.

Special Requests:

Special requests (in-flight seating, in-flight meal requests, room locations, bed preferences etc) cannot be guaranteed by African Shores. While African Shores will attempt to accommodate such special requests, African Shores cannot be held responsible if such requests can not be fulfilled.

Responsibility clauses:

It is the responsibility of the “traveller” to make sure that all their travel documentations are in order such as passport, visa and health certificates and any other documentation required to travel.

Information on Hotels:

African Shores acts as a agent and not as the service provider and can't take any responsibility what so ever for any service, type, location standard or any other hotel related service provided by the hotel and/or facilities or location.

Brochure/Website Information, Descriptions and Offers:

Information contained in our documentation and website is supplied by the various suppliers offering the services. Information is accurately compiled and checked, but from time to time, it is however possible that information, rates and offers contained may have varied or may no longer be applicable.

Airline Responsibilities:

All flight times, flight itineraries and carries are subject to change without prior notice. The passenger is responsible for contacting the airline within 24 hours of departure to confirm the departure time. It is recommended that passengers check in 2 to 3 hours prior to flight departure times unless otherwise stated by the airline. Passengers who do not allow sufficient time for all check-in procedures as specified by the Airline may be denied boarding and no compensation will be provided for missed flights. African Shores does not accept liability for missed connections, or any expenses resulting from delayed, rescheduled, oversold or cancelled flights.

Insurance:

African Shores recommends that all travels take out comprehensive Travel Insurance. As protection in the event of cancellation, unforeseen medical expenses, loss and theft. Baggage cover may vary dependant on the Airline clients travel on. It is the passengers responsibility to contact all airlines directly for information regarding their specific policies. Unless insured, all baggage remains at the owners risk throughout the trip.

Credit Card Payments:

The Travel Agency must hold record of signature on file for all credit card transactions and accepts all responsibility for such transactions. Any charge-backs (client refusal of payment) that may come to African Shores will be charged back directly to the Travel Agent.

Service Providers Special Conditions:

If special terms and conditions regarding deposits, payments and cancellation fees are imposed by any of African Shore’s suppliers/providers, African Shores shall be entitled , but shall not be obliged, to impose these special terms and conditions upon the client. If imposed, these conditions shall supersede any conflicting conditions contained herein.
