Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort has been created on the site
of one of Mauritius' best kept and most jealously guarded secrets, the former
sugar estate of Bel Ombre. Set on 15 hectares, the Resort nestles breathtakingly
between the dreamy turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the lush Plaine
Champagne hills. The Resort has a residential charm all of its own, capturing
the colonial spirit of Mauritius with its plantation architecture, expansive
manicured tropical gardens as well as the gentle waters of the Citronniers
River. Unequalled in Mauritius, nature is at the heart of this resort from the
pristine reef-enclosed lagoon and beach, the adjacent nature reserve of
Frederica
which extends over 1500 hectares as well as the 18-hole Championship golf course
and 9-hole short course.
Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort has been a member of the Small
Luxury Hotels of the World since September 2008, and is exceptional in many
ways: its butler service in Suites is one indication of their conviction that
top quality is synonymous with personalised service. Further, the luxurious and
spacious rooms decorated with fine white woodwork, all refer to the decor and
interiors of Mauritius in the 19th Century.
The Resort offers a variety of luxury accommodation in a discrete village
style design of 20 villas of 6 to 8 rooms. The 158 rooms and suites have
beautiful sea or river views through ceiling to floor French windows. Each rooms
has either a private balcony or terrace from which to ensure the view.
Each room offers individually controlled air-conditioning, a ceiling fan,
electronic safe, interactive flatscreen TV with satellite channels, telephone, data port,
dressing table with hairdryer and mini bar with tea &
coffee making facilities. A spacious bathroom adjoins with a soak bath, walk-in
shower, separate toilet, electric shaver plugs, spacious dressing
facilities and bathrobes. All Suites have an i-pod docking station.
Superior Rooms: 128 Superior Rooms of which 50 have a view of
the river, 62 a sea view and 16 beach front. There are 32 inter-leading rooms.
The Superior Rooms can accommodate either 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years
or 3 adults sharing. Rooms have either a Kingsize bed or twin beds and a sofa
bed.
Junior Suite: The 20 Junior Suites, 16 of which enjoy a sea
view, each have a hexagonal
shaped lounge, a wide linen-draped four poster bed and in the bathroom, a
generously proportioned old style bathtub. Ground floor suites have a private
outdoor shower area. The Junior Suites can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and
an infant in a room. All the Junior Suites can connect to a Superior Room if
inter-leading rooms are required.
Senior Suite: The 8 Senior Suites of 101sqm, 6 of which enjoy a
sea view, each offer a perfect
escape with separate lounge and dining area furnished with period pieces. The
adjoining bedroom has a generous linen-draped four poster bed as well as a
spacious en-suite bathroom with a 'his' and 'hers' wardrobe. Ground floor suites
have a private outdoor shower area. The Senior Suites can accommodate either 2
adults and 1 child under 12 years or 3 adults sharing. The room has a Kingsize
bed and an extra bed can be provided.
Ocean Suite: The 2 Ocean Suites (104sqm) are set on the
foot step of the Indian Ocean with a large verandah, spacious lounge, dining
area and guest washroom. The adjoining bedroom has a wide linen-draped four
poster bed as well as a spacious en-suite bathroom, 'his' and 'hers' wardrobe
and an old style, free standing bathtub and private outdoor shower area. The
Ocean Suite can accommodate either 2 adults and 1 child under 12 years or 3
adults sharing. The room has a Kingsize bed and an extra bed can be provided.
A butler service is available 24 hours a day for all guests staying in a
Suite.
Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort offers a wide variety of dining
experiences allowing guests to discover new flavours and cuisines.
Annabella's is the main restaurant, at the heart of the resort, that serves
breakfast and dinner from the interactive show kitchen, where guests and kitchen
brigade enjoy a convivial atmosphere. A table d'hote menu is served every night
or guests can use the food credit extended to eat a la carte.
Gin'ja is set on the beach and opens for lunch through to dinner. Serving
fresh fish and seafood with an Asian inspired influence, this restaurant is
ideal for a romantic dinner at sunset. Dining at this restaurant is extended to
a 'feet in the sand' experience with table settings on the beach and along the
waters edge with a mood enhanced by flaming torches. For dinner, a table d'hote
menu is available. Alternatively a food credit is extended to guests choosing
the a la carte menu.
Le Palmier, located on the edge of the beach and beside the pool, this
restaurant offers a light and varied cuisine throughout the day with dishes
cooked over a wood fire or BBQs with Mediterranean influences... the perfect
place to enjoy the sea without interruption. The place to eat in your swimsuit
and sarong!
Cavendish Bar & Lounge is the masterpiece of the hotel. This bar boasts a
cigar and library lounge reserved for the connoisseur gathering in comfortable
armchairs, enjoying the sounds of the resident band, overlooking the river. Open
from 11am until late.
Le Chateau de Bel Ombre, once the Manor House and heart of the Bel Ombre
Estate, is now a restaurant open from lunch straight through to dinner. Le
Chateau de Bel Ombre is ideal for weddings, special events and those occasions
requiring an extraordinary setting.

Land Sports:
Free of charge: 9 hole pitch and putt Par 3 course (one per day for guests 18
years and older), fully equipped gym, aerobics sessions, tai chi sessions, yoga
sessions, table tennis, french bowls, 3 floodlit tennis courts, tennis,
badminton, darts, beach volleyball, beach soccer, indoor games.
With supplement: 18-hole golf course Par 72, personal trainer at the gym,
golf cart, golf equipment, caddies, lessons, tennis lessons, tennis balls,
billiards/tokens, quad-biking in the Frederica estate, video games.
Water Sports:
Free of charge: 4600sqm swimming pool, 1 swimming pool at the kids club,
windsurfing, dinghy/laser, canoes (single and double), water-skiing sessions,
aqua-gym, pedal boats, glass bottom boat trips, snorkeling trips and the new
heated pool.
With supplement: catamaran cruises, deep sea fishing, kite-surfing, scuba
diving (PADI), water-skiing lessons.
Carved out of the old sugar fields between St Martin and Citronniers Rivers,
this prestigious course was designed by Peter Matkovich of Matkovich and Hayes,
South Africa. Facilities include a 18-hole 72-par championship course, 9
hole 27-par short course, driving range, chipping and putting practice greens,
club house with Pro Shop, restaurant and bar, caddies, golf carts, trolleys and
equipment for hire, PGA Golf Pro and Assistant Pro.
Thanks to preferential agreements, guests of Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa
Resort can also enjoy two other golf courses: The Tamarina Golf Estate and Beach
Club and Le Paradis Golf Club.
At Timomo and Friends Mini-club children aged 2 - 11 years can enjoy access
to a varied programme of activities specially designed for their age group.
Meals can be served at the mini-club and personalised baby-sitting services are
available with an extra charge.
Your teenagers will have a choice of excursions and a multitude of activities
appropriate to their age, all led by a team of entertainment professionals. Some
of the daily activities include: introduction to golf; discovery of local
musical instruments; karaoke; tennis tournaments and beach volleyball; horse
riding on the beach; and typical Mauritian style parties on the beach with camp
fires and the beat of the Sega.
Your little ones will be welcomed in the room with the following: embroidered
baby towels, a baby cot with its embroidered linen, Heritage Le Telfair Baby
Basket (with Johnson's baby lotion, baby oil and soap) and a Heritage Le Telfair
baby t-shirt.
On request a baby pram and baby monitor can be provided.
