In the heart of Mozambique, amidst pristine island shorelines, idyllic
dhow sails and achingly beautiful sunsets, lies quintessential Marlin
Lodge. Built on elevated wooden stilts, the Lodge overlooks a tranquil
Flamingo bay. From sand dunes to freshwater lakes and acacia woodlands,
Benguerra Island is a diverse ecological gem. While nature's finest
marine life swim veiled below the surface of opaque waters, upward the
skies are alighted by beautiful bird life. Marlin Lodge is settled
peacefully within its environment like an oasis in perfect harmony with
its unscatthed surroundings.
The Luxury Beach Suites are set just above the beach, sea facing, and
only a few steps from the white sands of flamingo bay beach. Each of the
luxury chalets are 60sqm and have a 17sqm verandah, which is also a
perfect location for a private dinner for two. The inside of the chalet
is constructed with sophisticated design finishes, including slated
flooring, plastered surfaces and soft lighting. Each chalet has
air-conditioning, ceiling fan, a four-poster bed with mosquito net,
en-suite bathroom with shower, his and her basins, vanity area, outside
shower, private lounge and verandah with deck chairs, mini bar and
private walkway to the beach.
The Executive Beach Suites' sheer size is what make them so
breathtaking. Boasting a 80sqm floor space, and a verandah of 30sqm,
this chalet is the perfect haven for the discerning traveller. Similar
to the Luxury Beach Suites, the inside is constructed with more
sophisticated finishes such as slated flooringg, plastered surfaces and
soft lighting.
There are a total of three Executive Beach Suites available. Each suite
has air-conditioning, king-size four-poster bed with mosquito netting,
en-suite bathroom, double basins, separate vanity area, shower, outside
shower, lounge area, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, private
verandah with deck chairs and a hammock and a private walkway to the
beach.
Marlin Lodge offers exceptional cuisine by first class chefs, with
sumptuous culinary flavours that will tempt and delight guests. The
cookery is characteristic of Mozambique: seafood is plentiful, infused
with the Asian and Portuguese influence of its past. Whether dining in
the dining room, on the beach under the stars or privately on your
terrace or under a beach gazebo, Marlin Lodge chefs will leave a lasting
impression.
There’s much to discover on and around the Island. On foot
or in open land rovers, the choice of how you explore Benguerra Island is
entirely up to you. The lodge takes great pride in their personal service –
and whether you are snorkelling on the Archipelago’s magnificent reefs, or
casting a fly from a boat – you will have an experienced guide with you.
Activities on offer include diving and snorkelling, fishing, dhow cruises,
castaway picnics, Landrover trips, bird watching, island walks, village
visits, sea kayaking, yacht day trips and horse riding. Some
activities are included in all-inclusive accommodation rate while others
will be at an additional cost.
Children of all ages are now welcome at Marlin Lodge.
Children under 3 years of age are accommodated at no extra
cost when sharing with adults, depending on the availability of cots and/or
rooms with a day bed.
Children 3 - 15 years pay 50% of the adult sharing rate,
when sharing with adults, and are accommodated on a day bed.
Day beds can accommodate a maximum of two children under the
age of 7 years.
Suites accommodating children sharing with parents have one
day bed per suite.
No formal child-minding services at available.
