Pestana Bazaruto Lodge
Located on Bazaruto Lodge, Bazaruto Archipelago
Renovated July 2007, the beautiful four-star Pestana
Bazaruto Lodge is the ideal getaway. Situated on Bazaruto Island, this lodge is
a true African island dream destination.
The lodge has 40 A-frame thatched bungalows, charmingly
decorated in an ethnic island style. The bungalows are set amongst tropical
gardens with breathtaking views of the ocean or gardens.
All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans,
mosquito nets over the bed, safe deposit box, tea and coffee making facilities,
laundry service, en-suite bathroom with bath and complimentary toiletries,
private open air shower and an outdoor porch with wooden furniture. There is
also a laundry service.
There are 20 Standard Rooms with either a queen or twin beds.
The rooms, designed in bright tones and textures, seamlessly blend local Island
influence with a stylish, yet natural ambience. The 20 Superior Rooms have with
king or queen beds. The rooms are also decorated in bright tones and textures
and there is an outdoor porch with wooden furniture and direct access to the
beach.
The Flamingo Restaurant is situated in the main building and has
a capacity for approximately 80 persons. The restaurant is open for breakfast
from 07h00 until 10h30, lunch from 13h00 - 15h00 and dinner from 19h30 until
22h00. Every night dinner is announced by the sound of African drums beating.
Mozambique and International dishes are served both a la carte and as a buffet.
The specialities are fish, seafood dishes and grills. A children's menu is
available and meals can be arranged before normal dining times.
The Sunset Bar is open from 07h00 until 01h00 daily offering
tea, coffee, international drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals.
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge offers a wide range of facilities and
leisure activities for guests to enjoy. These include the outdoor swimming pool,
games room with pool table, table tennis and soccer game, board games, DVD and
video room, DSTV, business centre with computers, laptop connection and Internet
access. There is also a library, curio shop and free shuttle to Dolphin Bay
(times are available on the lodge notice board)
A range of water sports can be arranged through the lodge. These
include diving, snorkelling, shore, fly and offshore fishing, big game fishing,
island hopping trips picnics, sunset trips by Land Rover, boat or local dhow,
bird watching, water skiing, wake boarding and wake snake.
There is a Kid's Club and baby-sitting is available on request
