| About the Lodge: |
This 5-star, 12 000ha, Big Five game reserve is situated in
majestic Northern Zululand in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Dominated by the
Shembe and Mahlangosi mountains, the reserve is host to a
tremendous diversity of flora and fauna including lion, leopard,
elephant, white rhino, buffalo, cheetah, hippo, crocodile,
giraffe, nyala and an impressive quantity and variety of plains
game. Over 400 species of birds provide hours of interest for
the keen birder.
Accommodation is offered in two lodges, namely Mkuze
Falls Lodge and Mkuze Falls Tented Lodge.
Mkuze Falls Lodge is located along the northern bank of
the Mkuze River. Overlooking the Mkuze Waterfall, the lodge
features eight luxuriously appointed thatched chalets and one
Safari Suite. Sprawling wooden walkways link the accommodation
to a superbly decorated lounge with views across the falls, a
bar, dining area, large viewing deck, swimming pool and Spa.
Spacious public areas offer various dining options from the
outdoor decks, cosy restaurant and traditional African Boma.
High tea is an occasion with delectable pastries and cakes
served in the welcoming lounge. A well stocked curio shop offers
African artefacts, basket ware, jewellery, paitings and
clothing.
Mkuze Falls Tented Camp provides a true African
adventure with utmost comfort and style. Pre-dinner drinks
around the fire on the bar deck provide both a perfect ending to
exhilarating game viewing and a subtle start to the nocturnal
sounds and rhythyms of the African night. Dining options at the
Tented Lodge include open air dining around the pool, the cosy
dining room or the traditional, open air, rustic Boma. Private
dining is also available at a variety of venues including tent
decks or in the bush.
To add to the full relaxation at both lodges, Mkuze Falls offers
the facility of a massage therapist. On request this can be
enjoyed anytime of the day in the privacy of your own room or in
the Spa centre. |

Mkuze Falls Lodge - Eight luxuriously appointed thatched
chalets and one Safari Suite, accommodating a total of 18 guests
in utmost comfort and style. Further features include
telephones, secure safe, overhead fan, air-conditioning.
Mkuze Falls Tented Camp - Perfect for an adventurous experience
in five Hemmingway style East African tents, each overlooking
the Mkuze River. The elegance of the tented design is
reminiscent of a bygone era, beckoned by the freestanding
Victorian bath in the en-suite bathroom. The luxury tents also
offer fans, air-conditioning, mosquito net, secure safe and mini
bar facilities. Luxury guest amenities are provided as are
gowns. |

Children of all ages are welcome at the Mkuze Falls
Private Game Reserve.
Due to safety reasons, children younger than six years are
unfortunately not permitted on the daily game drives. Children
younger than 12 years of age may share the room with parents
with a maximum of 1 child per chalet/tent and a maximum of 2
children in the Luxury Safari Suite. |
