The rapids on the Zambezi River are officially defined as “Grade 5” by
the British Canoe Union (Grade 6 being commercially un-runnable).
Clients should be reasonably fit for this activity, as there is a fairly
steep walk into & out of the Batoka Gorge as well as the white water
rafting activity itself. Tea, coffee & biscuits are served in the
morning at check-in, after which clients are taken to the Gorge for
their safety briefing before the days’ activity commences. Depending on
the activity booked, a light lunch is either served in the gorge between
rapids (Full Day), or at the top of the gorge (Half Day). Clients booked
for a Full Day will continue on rafting in the afternoon and can expect
to be returned to their hotels at 15:00hrs (high water) and 17:00hrs
(low water). Due to the nature of this activity, clients should be
warned to leave their valuables & personal effects safely locked up at
their hotel. |
